When it comes to sales training, it's imperative the trainer actually has experience and has been very successful using the principles he/she is teaching.

Jason, this is a very good piece and I agree with you on about 95%. The only differencer is that I think you need to understand the learner AND the organisation or environment in which he or she works.

Hmm...excellent correlation between sales (Solution Selling) and training (learning vs. training). Isn't "learning" the whole model for training adults, anyway? Learner-centered approaches have traditionally worked the best when I've led training for adults.

Again, great correlation and tie-in from Solution Selling to Training.

I like that ~ "I am, at any given time, what I choose to be." We all wear many, many different hats at one time so that we may survive the world, or at least attempt to keep up with it. From what I am understanding in my present studies, you have definitely hit upon the right questions. To me...training is everything and I am looking forward to the next delivery on Training 2.0.

I have just recently been acquainted with podcasting and I have found it to be very useful. In fact, the information is so broken down that it provides a clearer understanding of the material or subject at hand. I would definitely have to agree that businesses should look into the benefits of podcasting and how it will benefit their employees, their businesses, and perhaps their revenue. Podcasting is very insightful. It will be the next new wave!!

I think that businesses would be foolish not to take advantage of using podcasts in their training. Downloading them onto iPods is fantastic. As a mother of four that works fulltime, time is limited. I would love to be able to walk on my treadmill or do my housework while listening to a training program. It would be the perfect addition.

I agree completely with trainers and companies taking advantage of technology and using podcasts. I-pods are all the rage and I know I would listen to training programs if I could download them onto my I-pod or mp3 player so that I could listen to them at my convenience.
If we are going to keep up as trainers in the training field, then we need to move with the speed of technology and take advantage of the current rage to use as a instructional aid.

Podcasts are generating infinideas...and you list some good ones on your blog. While podcasting may seem like the newest teaching and learning tool, I believe that's because podcasting is just starting to gain ground with the general populace. There are some newer, cooler techniques out there for training -- but they aren't necessarily tied to Training 2.0 as you so aptly are calling our current revolution in the training world.

When we can combine Training 2.0 with other excellent techniques and when more tools like Veotag are developed and made portable, we will really see podcasting explode as a viable training tool, in and of itself.
